Madison is an actor, filmmaker, writer, and creative director all in one. Jack of all trades, anyone? Born in College Station, Texas, it was only two months before she was flying across the world in a cardboard box beneath her dad's Economy seat legroom. In Taipei, Taiwan, she started her identity as a sheep. All the kids did there was study, and so she did the same. She was 7 when she came back to the States. She was also 7 when she discovered her infatuation with film, film acting, and filmmaking.
Her formative middle school years, roughly when Hamilton had a culturally significant impact on the West, she was back in Taiwan, studying. Sometimes it can be said she resents her time in her motherland because it set her back artistically, but how do you truly resent home? You can't.
Freshman year of high school, she was back in the States. The day she found out she was coming back, she emailed the high school theatre director to join the Drama Club, halfway across the world. I don't believe she even knew what VPN was then.
From then on, she thrived as a performer and a writer, taking leadership roles in theatre productions as well as becoming Section Editor of the school's Literary Magazine, EREHWON. But something didn't feel right. It didn't feel enough; she wanted her feelings and emotions to be in motion. She wanted her perspective to be so tangible.
So she pursued a degree that integrated Film Production and Business Administration, all while on a theatre performance scholarship at Drexel University. She's finally doing all she ever wanted to do: be excessively sentimental about the soil that grew her. But you can't blame her, because emotions are just that funny in the sense that they can be so small and yet, so all-consuming that they beg to be told visually, tangibly.
Summer of 2023, Madison interned at CTS (Chinese Television System), a top broadcasting company in Taipei, Taiwan. There, she worked on script supervision and script coverage, assisted filming on-set and in studios, as well as gained on-air experience. The YouTube video is floating around somewhere. That was her foot in the door as well as her Erysichthon's curse.
Because now, all she wants to do is to make more
